Keep the picture, shrink the file

How it works

How the compressor works

  1. Step 1

    Drop in a picture

Drag a PNG, JPEG, or WebP onto the page, or choose it from your computer. It opens right here in your browser, so nothing uploads.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a format and quality

Choose PNG, JPEG, or WebP. With JPEG or WebP, move the quality slider down for a smaller file. PNG keeps every pixel, so it has no slider.

  3. Step 3

    Download the file

Check the original size against the result, then save it. The file is named with -compressed so you can tell it from the original.

Questions about this tool

Does this upload my picture?

No. The work happens on this page in your browser. You don't need an account, and we never see the file.

Does the picture change size?

No. The width and height stay the same. You only change the format and, for JPEG and WebP, the quality.

Is this free?

Yes. The download from this page costs nothing. A file from a saved template still costs one credit.

How big can the picture be?

Choose a PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 10 MB. It must be at least 320 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall. A very large picture may not open.

What about transparent backgrounds?

PNG and WebP can keep them. JPEG fills empty areas with the colour you pick, which starts as white.
