It takes a couple of minutes. You add one entry to your mcp.json with our address, sign in on a thirds.ai page, and from then on you just ask Cursor Agent for files from your saved designs. Cursor's MCP guide says it supports sign-in for remote servers, so your mcp.json holds only our address (checked 4 October 2026).

Yes. Cursor 2.4 added image generation to Cursor Agent on 22 January 2026, according to Cursor's changelog. You describe the picture or upload a reference, and each try comes out a little different. Connect thirds.ai when every image has to match the last one, or when you need a PDF.
Does connecting Cursor cost anything?
No. Connecting and listing the thirds.ai tools is free. A free thirds.ai account gets 50 credits a month with no card, one finished file costs one credit, and a file that fails costs nothing.
Do I need an API key?
No. With only our address in mcp.json, Cursor opens a thirds.ai page and you sign in there. Use an API key instead when you also want Cursor to make AI pictures to place inside a design. The setup guide shows both ways.
Can I share the setup with my team?
Yes. Put the entry in .cursor/mcp.json inside the project, and each person signs in with their own thirds.ai account the first time Cursor connects.
Can my app make the images on its own, without Cursor?
Yes. The REST API makes files from the same saved designs, so your app can make a share image for each new page or an invoice for each order. Ask Cursor to write the call for you, or read the API docs.
Can I change the design later?
Yes. Tell Cursor what you want different, and it changes the design for you, or open it in the thirds.ai editor yourself. Save it, and every file Cursor makes after that has the new look, so you don't have to touch your prompts.
On its own, Cursor draws something new every time, so your logo, colours, and layout shift from one file to the next. Pick a designer-made template, add your logo and colours once, then ask Cursor for the next file, and it builds it from that same design, so every file looks premium.
