How do I generate a PDF in n8n?

Install the node once, add your key, and pick a design you saved. After that, every run makes its own PDF or image.

  1. n8n

    Install the thirds.ai node

    Paste this name into n8n as the Owner or an Admin. The node needs self-hosted n8n 1.0 or newer. On n8n Cloud, use the HTTP Request node.

  2. Add your API key

    Make a key on thirds.ai, then add it in n8n as a thirds.ai API credential, the place n8n keeps your logins.

Can I use thirds.ai on n8n Cloud?

Yes. On n8n Cloud you use n8n's own HTTP Request node in place of ours, and the API workflow guide gives you the settings to paste. It makes the same file from the same design. The thirds.ai node itself needs a self-hosted n8n, version 1.0 or newer. Make a file from n8n Cloud. Install the node on self-hosted n8n.

Can I generate a PDF in n8n for free?

Yes. A verified free thirds.ai account gets 50 credits a month, and one finished PDF or image costs one credit. A file that fails costs nothing, and a retry in the same run gives you the same file back without a second charge.

How do I convert HTML to PDF in n8n?

Paste your HTML into thirds.ai once, and it becomes an editable design the node fills on every run. If you don't have HTML, pick a gallery design instead. Turn your HTML into a design.

Can an AI Agent in n8n make the file?

Yes. Attach the thirds.ai node to n8n's AI Agent node as one of its tools, and the agent makes the PDF or image from your saved design whenever its task needs one.
